I remember growing up seeing the poster with Uncle Sam's image and the famous phrase: "I want you for U.S. Army."

While this had no appeal to me, I have close relatives who did answer the call to serve.

My dad, two brothers and older sister served our country faithfully in the military. I salute all those who enlist in all branches of the armed forces.

Those in the service academies are faithful and fearless.

In the spirit, we must show the same qualities as soldiers in the army of the Lord.

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit represent every ranking of commanding officers.

They have given us specific instructions to share the word.

Our commissioned orders are to love, forgive, display humility and be heavenly ambassadors.
